Dear Waiora Distributor,



It has come to our attention that a small amount of Natural Cellular Defense has shipped that contains un-dissolved minerals. Although we perform quality assurance procedures on a sampling of each batch received, this issue was not detected in our sampling. This issue is limited to one specific lot of products, lot no. 071562.



Rest assured the product is safe and efficacious. Every bottle of Natural Cellular Defense contains the same amount of the activated zeolite. This is standardized as part of the Quality Control procedures that are in place.



However, because the appearance of some bottles in this lot has raised questions, Waiora will exchange any bottles of Natural Cellular Defense that were ordered between June 15 and July 6 and are from lot: 071562. Please remember, the product is the same safe and efficacious product you have come to know, so exchanging them is completely voluntary.



These exchanges will be done at no additional cost to our customers or Distributors.



At Waiora, we take pride in providing the safest and most efficacious products in the industry. If you ordered Natural Cellular Defense between June 15 and July 6 and you have lot number 071562 that you would like to exchange, please call the Waiora Support Group at 1-866-699-2467.



We deeply apologize for this situation. Our manufacturer guarantees that the product in all subsequent lots will be of the highest quality. Keep in mind however, because it is an all natural mineral, the product can have slight variations in color, taste and smell.

"What comes around goes around"......

As electronics enthusiasts, it's easy for us to get excited about new iPods, faster processors, sleek iBooks, and flat-screen monitors. But most of us have given little thought to what becomes of the equipment we replace.

An estimated 130 million computers will be manufactured and sold this year, as well as untold numbers of cell phones, televisions, and other electronic devices. The outdated electronics we replace, such as computers, televisions, printers, and related peripherals, become electronic waste (e-waste). It's estimated that in 2005, one computer will become obsolete for every new computer put on the market. Cell phones have the shortest lifespan amon g consumer electronics: 1.5 years.

What's Inside
E-waste is both an environmental problem and a health hazard. Many people don't realize that electronics contain hazardous toxins, such as lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury, and brominated flame retardants, all shown to have adverse health effects in humans and wildlife. Particularly hazardous is older equipment that had large amounts of banned substances used in its production, such as polybrominated biphenyl (PBBs) and diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). These chemicals degrade slowly into the environment and build up in living organisms, much as the more well-known PCBs do. Accumulations of PBBs and PBDEs are known to affect behavior as well as thyroid hormone production as levels increase. While the adverse health effects of exposure to lead and mercury are well documented, most people are less aware that hexavalent chromium (Cr VI) is more soluble in water than its natural cousin, chromium (Cr III). Cr VI targe ts the respiratory system and in 1975 was declared an occupational carcinogen by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

Want specifics? Different devices and components include a wide variety of toxic substances.

* Monitors and televisions contain cathode ray tubes (CRTs), which use lead to shield users from radiation. CRTs also contain barium.
* Printed circuit boards can contain chromium, lead, beryllium, mercury, cadmium, nickel, and zinc. Lead solder is used to hold components to circuit boards, and brominated flame retardants are used in circuit boards, cables, and plastic casing.
* Batteries contained in printed circuit boards have numerous hazardous metals, including mercury, nickel, cadmium, and lead.
* Laptop computers have a small fluorescent lamp containing mercury in the screen, in addition to the materials in monitors and CPUs.
* Peripherals such as printers utilize circuit boards, batteries, and toner cartridges. C opiers have selenium or chromium drums.

Collateral Damage
When electronics are not properly disposed of or recycled, they end up in our landfills, where the toxins they contain can make their way into the groundwater and into the air we breathe. Some discarded electronics are shipped to developing countries to be harvested for usable components by children and other workers paid pennies a day. This work is often done without gloves, masks, or goggles, resulting in exposure to the harmful chemicals, glass, and other sharp objects.

All this happens in part because no national regulations govern the handling or disposal of e-waste in the United States. California and Maine have passed their own e-waste laws, which place responsibility on the consumer. Other states have passed legislation classifying electronics as hazardous waste. This patchwork of different laws from coast to coast makes it difficult and expensive for consumers to understand what to do, and for retailers and manufacturers to adhere to the laws.

Make a Difference
So what can we do about it? As consumers, we can take personal responsibility for recycling our electronics properly. Every electronics reseller should offer options to customers and provide information about hazards of improper recycling. Manufacturers are also responsible: Apple, Dell, Sony, and the rest of the gang need to step up and offer incentives to make sure their temporarily cool items are recycled when they're no longer wanted. Apple has done some work here with the iPod recycling pr ogram and other environmental programs, although the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition has called on the company to go further.

Most solid-waste districts can provide you with more information on resources in your area. You may want to ask a few questions when you drop off your electronics to be sure they're being disposed of properly. Some questions to ask include:

* Do you provide a data-scrubbing service to remove information from the machines?
* What company handles the electronics after they leave here?
* Are the electronics repaired and resold or dismantled for working parts? If so, what protections do the workers have against the toxic materials?
* Where are the electronics sent? What is the final destination of the electronics?
* Are non-working electronics sent to developing countries?

Small Dog Electronics supports shared responsibility and shared cost among consumers, manufacturers, and retailers. In other words, we're not just leaving it to our customers to pay for recycling. Currently, we offer free recycling when you purchase a replacement hard drive or iPod battery. We are also a local drop-off point for all electronics recycling. Recycling is available for 25 cents per pound, which covers the costs that we are charged by the re cyclers.

We're also working with government leaders and industry organizations to develop a model for handling end-of-life electronics where financial and physical responsibilities are shared. This is proving to be a slow process, especially since our senator will be retiring this year. So far, no laws have been passed that have come directly from our efforts, but we will continue to keep this issue forefront in Vermont politics. We can all put pressure on our state and local governments to cooperate by writing to our elected representatives. Our biggest gains to date have been working with our local recyclers and solid waste managers to get them to assist in telling the story of e-waste.

Businesses, the technology and recycling industry, and our federal, state, and local governments should work together to make sure that our e-waste does not go to landfills or incinerators or to developing countries, but that our country has a system for responsibly handling and disposing of e-waste.

Even if Small Dog Electronics can't be the biggest contributor to this movement, maybe we can help by being the smallest and the noisiest, doing the share of the work that is ours to do, and spreading the word to other people. This isn't hard. It's like taking a pooper scooper with you when you go for a walk with your dog. If each person cleans up his or her own mess, the whole mess starts to get cleaned up.

Waiora's Upcoming Global Not-for-Resale (NFR) Program





Will the Waiora Not-for-Resale (NFR) program change anything that I'm doing right now?

Yes! It will make it easier for you to refer people in other markets; for them to purchase product; and refer others!



Are Waiora's products allowed to be resold in international markets?

Due to the nature of NFR, the resale of products is not permitted. Not for Resale is a personal consumption program only. This is due to the fact that Waiora's products are not registered in NFR markets.



Individuals in overseas markets wishing to purchase Waiora products will therefore be deemed "Preferred NFR Customers."





Are there any restrictions on how much product a Preferred NFR Customer can purchase?

No. However, local laws on personal imports of health products do vary from country to country.



Under the NFR program will Preferred NFR Customers receive compensation?

Yes. Preferred NFR Customers will be eligible for the same compensation as distributors in the U.S. - per our global, seamless compensation program.

The main difference between a Preferred NFR Customer and a Waiora Distributor is that Preferred NFR Customers are not allowed to resell any items they purchase through Waiora.



Once the system is in place, Preferred NFR Customers will be issued a Waiora ID# upon completion of their online application form. Naturally, Preferred NFR Customers must agree to the terms and conditions of becoming a Preferred NFR Customer before their status and ID# will be approved. Namely, that they agree not to resell any Waiora product.



Can Preferred NFR Customers refer others to purchase Waiora products in their local country?

Yes!



Can they refer people that reside in other open Waiora markets?

Yes!



Can Preferred NFR Customers participate in company rewards?

Yes. However, some company rewards - such as trips - will vary due to obvious geographical and logistical reasons.



Will Preferred NFR Customers have to pay taxes on compensation/rewards earned?

It is the Preferred NFR Customer's responsibility to ensure that all mandatory local taxes are paid on time and that proper amounts are paid.



Will Preferred NFR Customers be responsible for local import duties and taxes on products they purchase from Waiora?

The Preferred NFR Customer is responsible for local duties, import taxes and fees when the product is received by them.

Just-Published Study Shows Vitamin D3 May Lower Cancer Risk

Most people are probably not getting enough vitamin D, a fact that may put them at significant risk for developing cancer, according to a landmark study conducted by Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition1. Although our bodies naturally make vitamin D3 when exposed to sunlight, those who live further north and who spend more months indoors (exposed to less UV rays from the sun) have lower vitamin D levels and may be more likely to get cancer.

The four-year, placebo-controlled, randomized study followed 1,179 healthy, post-menopausal women. Participants taking calcium, as well as very high levels of vitamin D, showed a dramatic 60 percent or greater reduction in cancer risk than women who did not get the vitamin.

Vitamin D is found in supplements both as D3 and D2. It should be noted that the form of vitamin D used in the above study was D3 (as cholecalciferol) which is much more potent compared to vitamin D2. Vitamin D2 is used in many inferior supplements and multi-vitamins, so it behooves you to read labels to find one like Waiora's Essential Daily Nutrients that specifies D3 or cholecalciferol as an ingredient.

To Score An Invite...

For an invitation to join the ranks of those on the trip, you have to, well, advance in rank. Here's how this works for new and existing Diamonds:

§ For NEW Diamonds to qualify for the 2007 Trip, you must qualify as Diamond in April 2007 and maintain that rank in May 2007.

§ For EXISTING Diamonds, each Diamond level you advance equals another years’ trip. So the more people you help to achieve Diamond, the more once-in-a-lifetime experiences you receive. Existing Diamonds must qualify in April 2007 and maintain in May 2007.

New Glass Bottle Option for Natural Cellular Defense

Waiora has just launched a new glass bottle option for Natural Cellular Defense. This option contains 40 milliliters (mL) of liquid zeolite in one bottle (the individual bottles in the single, three and four packs contain 15 mL each).

The bottle is cobalt blue in color and has a rubber cap with glass pipette. Squeezing and releasing the rubber cap creates suction to fill up the glass pipette. To dispense from the pipette, simply squeeze the rubber cap again to release the liquid. This item is available as item no. 6010 and sells at wholesale for $99.95/100 CV.
